Chadstone - The Fashion Capital is undergoing development during 2008. Our aim is to keep you informed of everything relating to the exciting development projects the centre is currently undertaking. We look forward to revealing the Centre to you once completed. The centre has a dedicated team working to ensure an ongoing, customer friendly retail experience.

In order to ensure you get all the information you need, we have now created a 24 hour Resident Hotline, as well as a dedicated email address. The Resident Hotline service has been set up to answer questions about the development projects. You can contact the HOTLINE by dialling Centre Management on 9563 3355 and pressing option 6. This feature will take you directly to a live customer service operator 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.

Gourmet Fresh Food Precinct Development

  • Chadstone’s new gourmet fresh food precinct will comprise 12,600m2 of retail and 9,280m2 of commercial space on the east side of the centre.
  • Offering an eclectic mix of fine foods, cafes, restaurants, financial district and a new black label Fitness First, there will be more reasons than ever to visit Chadstone.
  • 40 new exciting stores will be unveiled including Simon Johnson, Oriental Tea House and Bodum, plus Safeway, Aldi and First Choice Liquor to name just a few.
  • The development will include an external plaza for alfresco dining and entertainment, plus a totally refurbished fresh food hall adjacent to the external plaza.
  • Upon completion there will be a total of 8,800 car spaces – more than any shopping centre in the country.
  • DUE FOR COMPLETION NOVEMBER 2008

David Jones to Target Mall Devlopment

  • On May 31, the mall running between David Jones and Target will be inaccessible due to development.  Please take note of the best access to reach your destination.
  • The new mall development at Chadstone will encompass the area between David Jones and Target – comprising 25,000m2 of retail and 1,700m2 of commercial space. 
  • Constructed over two levels, the new mall will complete the racetrack loop on the lower level matching the existing ground level retail plan in this part of the centre. 
  • At the southern end of the mall closest to David Jones the introduction of international luxury brands across two levels will complete the total fashion offer at Chadstone. 
  • Upon completion, this development will elevate the retail offer at Chadstone to more than 500 stores, with over 9,500 car parking spaces. 
  • The new mall will be finished in high quality materials of natural stone, glass and stainless steel, creating a world-class space of style and elegance.
  • DUE FOR COMPLETION LATE 2009

Car Parking during the works

Chadstone Shopping Centre boasts the largest shopping centre car park in Australia. Currently the centre has over 8000 spaces available. During the project only a minimal amount of car spaces will be affected by the works. At the completion of the projects Chadstone Shopping Centres car parking spaces will increase to a total of over 9500 spaces - more than any shopping centre in the country.

Please Note: All disabled parking spaces that have been affected by the construction works have been relocated to adjacent areas in the same vicinity where possible.

Centre access

No external centre access into the centre has been affected by the construction works. All entries remain open. This may change during the project, so please keep checking this page for updates.

Pedestrian access

Access via the Midlothian Street pedestrian pathway into the centre has now been restored with the completion of the JB HiFi project. The pathway and roadway to the ANZ entry has reopened to both pedestrians and motorists.
All other pedestrian access pathways to the centre are currently open to the public.

Public Transportation

All public transport bus routes continue for the duration of the construction works. The works will not cause disruption to the current schedules and services.
